What is Endocannabinoid System (ECS)?

Endocannabinoid system is a communication system between the brain and the human body, with a strong impact on a series of functions from feeling better in perception and movement.
The Endocannabinoid System (ECS) is a system in our body that regulates homeostasis – a state of “balance” or “harmony”.
The endocannabinoid system has two receptors: CB1 and CB2. Each receptor responds to different cannabinoids, but some cannabinoids can interact with both.
The distribution of CB1 and CB2 receptors within the body and brain explains why cannabinoids have certain effects.
  • CB1 receptors are found throughout the body, but are mostly present in the brain and spinal cord. They are concentrated in brain regions associated with the behaviors they influence.
  • CB2 receptors tend to be found in the peripheral nervous system. They are especially concentrated in immune cells.
  • ECS is what gets our body back in balance when it goes awry as a result of working to hard, modern living, bad lifestyle choices etc. Over time, neglect and natural wear and tear of our ECS means we can become cannabinoid-deficient at which point our levels need to be replenished with cannabinoids like CBD. With your bodys ECS restored you will feel happier, healthier and funciton better.
